Project: NUFFIELD HOSPITAL, MANCHESTER
Value: £150k plus
Programme Duration: 8 weeks
Scope: Nuffield health were constructing a new 75m state of the art hospital and wellbeing centre in Manchester city centre which included the deconstruction of several 1960’s and Victorian building buildings.
We were asked by a leading north west demolition contractor to remove the extensive amount of asbestos found both internally and externally to the buildings. The project was subject to strict time scales which had to be met in order for the deconstruction works to be done as quickly as possible. Working with the demolition contractor we were able to complete the works well within time and following the discovery of further asbestos we were able to dispatch additional resources to site to ensure there was no impact to the overall program.
Part of the project included for removal of external Asbestos panels to windows throughout a 4 floor classroom building. We employed qualified scaffolding contractor who constructed a bespoke scaffold design to enable us to remove the panels under fully controlled conditions.
