About Asbestos Insulating Board
A very common building material after World War 2 and most prevalently used between the 1950s and 1980s, asbestos insulating board is a low-density board which had many uses as a fire-retardant material as well as general building board. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) note common uses for AIB as:
- partition walls
- fireproofing panels in fire doors
- lift shaft linings
- ceiling tiles
- soffits
- panels below windows

How Dangerous Is Asbestos Insulating Board?
