Burma St Pipe run
Longbridge
Work type: Asbestos removal and Install
Location: Longbridge, Birmingham
Date Completed: Jan 2022
Project Duration: 11 weeks
After the demolition of a large former industrial car factory, additional industrial asbestos insulation was found to 4 no pipes which were outside the boundary of the original demolition project. Each industrial pipework was approximately 300 linear metres each. The pipe runs were located within a steep embankment which had years’ worth of vegetative growth. As the pipes were exposed to external element’s for decades, sections were left in very poor condition. This required a comprehensive surface identification and asbestos removal program, as well just removing the pipes
Our asbestos specialists were asked to put together a comprehensive proposal to ensure a complete asbestos removal. Prior to our commencement, it was identified that one of the pipes was still in a “live” condition. To that end, we employed specialised contractors who undertook a full re-route of the pipework and install of a new water mains. This allowed us to safely operate the necessary asbestos removal of the insulated pipes without any disturbance of the live feed. The land around the pipework’s was completely cut back to allow for the all loose debris to the surface to be safely removed.
We acted as principal contractor throughout the project providing suitable welfare and management throughout the asbestos removal works.
Units 1 – 3 Parkside Industrial

In order to facilitate the large areas of asbestos removal required, we constructed large scale enclosures and utilised the most up to date negative pressure equipment to ensure suitable air management of all work spaces were undertaken.
Acting as Principal contractor, we took full care of our works with sufficient welfare facilities and site segregation from other works happening on site.

Former Philips Site
Southport
Date Completed: Feb 2018
Project Duration: 16 weeks
We were instructed on behalf of Philips Electronics to undertake an extensive asbestos removal, relating to an asbestos insulating board (over 3000m2) found throughout the former industrial site in Southport. The building was no longer in use and was proposed to be part of a larger regeneration, however the asbestos was in poor condition after years of none use. Extensive Pigeon Guano was present within the building so we were asked to incorporate decontamination within our work areas of the hazardous material.
We were able to put together a progressive solution to undertake safe asbestos removal on site, undertaking multiple buildings at the same time. We resourced high labour levels on site throughout the project to ensure the speedy completion of asbestos removal.
We acted as Principal contractor for the works and supplied sufficient facilities for our work force and other contractors used on site.
