Asbestos Removals For Government Properties Case Studies and Previous Projects
Reddish Vale have worked with a wide range of local and national Government organisations to ensure that public citizens remain protected from asbestos-containing materials. Our high-standards and health and safety procedures have enabled this. View all our previous case studies for the public sector below.
Saunders Lane
Police HQ
Work type: Asbestos removal
Location: Preston
Date Completed: Nov 2021
Project Duration: 2 weeks
We were asked to carry out the removal of asbestos insulation debris within an operational boiler room as part of a Police HQ. The asbestos removal works involved the disposal of debris to walls and other surfaces. Then, we had to undertake an asbestos encapsulation of the walls up to a specified height.
Since our asbestos removal works were within a Police HQ, our team was security vetted and all of our operatives had suitable checks undertaken before they were able to work on-site.
Works were completed ahead of schedule allowing follow on works to commence.
Manchester University
Framework
Framework Duration: 2018 – 2021
In late 2018 after a rigorous and competitive tender process, we were appointed onto the framework for asbestos services for one of the country’s leading universities. We have undertaken several asbestos projects for the university within live buildings and have facilitated projects designed to work in conjunction with the buildings remaining active for the university.
Often acting as our own principal contractor, we have successfully delivered asbestos removal projects on time and in accordance with the expectations of the university and we look forward to carrying on delivering for the University of Manchester in the coming years.
Oldham Council
Framework
Framework Duration: 2016 – 2021
In 2016, we were successful in our bid to become one of Oldham Council’s designated asbestos removal contractors. We operated for the 3-year term in line with the council’s expectations and undertook several asbestos removal projects varying from 1 week to 4 week project durations.
Operating within Oldham, we were able to bring social value as part of our submission with 80% of our staff employed who live within Oldham and the surrounding areas and we use Oldham-based suppliers to help us deliver projects throughout the UK.
We had also been reappointed on the framework from 2019 – 2021 and look forward to continuing our partnership with Oldham MBC in the future.
The Limes
Wigan and Leigh
Date Completed: Apr 2017
Project Duration: 3 weeks
We were approached by the NHS to carry out the safe removal of asbestos identified within a building which was structurally unsafe to access, but was due for demolition.
Acting as principal contractor, we contracted a demolition contractor to work with us to carefully deconstruct the building. We then put in adequate licensed controls and we worked with the demolition contractor to excavate the basement which contained asbestos and removed the contaminated waste from site.
We also undertook none licensed asbestos removal and full building deconstruction within a second building on site.
