Do Manchester City Council remove asbestos?
Manchester City Council does not normally remove asbestos products that are in a good condition, as they do not directly pose a health and safety risk unless they become damaged, disturbed, or their condition deteriorates (this can be monitored by regular compliance checks, e.g. asbestos re-inspections).
However, Manchester City Council does have asbestos survey information on all of their homes and they know the whereabouts of asbestos within their properties. This helps keep tenants safe and make sure there is no accidental release of asbestos fibres during refurbishment work or repairs.
